EMUGE-FRANKEN USA Expands North American Carbide Drill Lineup

EMUGE-FRANKEN USA has expanded its solid carbide drill program in North America, introducing two new drill lines—SteelDrill and InoxDrill—along with additions to its existing MultiDRILL and EF-Drill product families. This update brings more than 1,000 new SKUs to the company’s tooling portfolio.

The expansion is designed to offer more comprehensive holemaking solutions to manufacturers, job shops, and production facilities across various industries. According to EMUGE-FRANKEN USA Product Director Dylan Bowles, the new drills aim to meet growing demand for high-performance, application-specific tools.

SteelDrill: Optimized for Steel and Cast Materials

The SteelDrill line is built for efficient drilling in steel and cast materials, while also performing well in hard and non-ferrous metals. It features:

• A concave primary cutting edge with optimized edge prep

• Double-margin design for stability and hole precision

• Internal coolant-through capability

• A proprietary coating for smoother, faster cuts and extended tool life

SteelDrill is available in 3XD, 5XD, and 8XD lengths with diameters from 3.00 mm to 20.00 mm (0.1181" to 0.7874"), totaling 548 SKUs.

InoxDrill: Built for Stainless, Aluminum, and Exotic Alloys

The InoxDrill line is targeted for stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel-based alloys. Key features include:

• Single-margin design to reduce material buildup

• Coolant-through capability

• A proprietary coating and polishing process

• Optimized edge prep for improved performance

InoxDrill comes in 3XD and 5XD lengths, with diameters from 3.00 mm to 19.05 mm (0.1181" to 0.7500"), totaling 372 SKUs.

MultiDRILL: New Sizes and Micro Drill Options

EMUGE has added 8XD lengths to the MultiDRILL line, expanding its capabilities for job shops and production environments. The new offerings include:

• 172 new SKUs in 8XD lengths from 3.00 mm to 16.00 mm (0.1181” to 0.6299”)

• New 6XD Micro Drills from 1 mm to 2.95 mm (0.0394” to 0.1160”) in diameter

The MultiDRILL Micro Drills are designed with an advanced flute profile for better chip evacuation, a radius cutting edge for high shearing action, and a specialized point geometry to generate short chips. These micro drills feature an ALCR-99 coating for added heat and wear resistance.

EF-Drill: Now Available in 12XD

EMUGE’s EF-Drills are now offered in 12XD lengths, supporting deeper hole drilling applications. The drills come in diameters from 3.00 mm to 14.00 mm (0.1181” to 0.5512”), adding 47 new SKUs.

EF-Drills are engineered for straightness and surface quality in deep hole drilling tasks, especially where standard high-speed steel drills fall short.
