L&L Special Furnace Co. has delivered its QDD29 electric dual-chamber box furnace to a Midwest-based equipment provider. This furnace is destined for a snap-on tools distributor's production facility, where it will support tool and die operations within the production line.

The QDD series, featuring the QDD29 model, represents a compact and cost-effective solution for diverse thermal applications. Its unique over/under design maximizes floor space efficiency while ensuring consistent and trustworthy heat-treating processes, eliminating the need for third-party vendors and mitigating shipping delays and costs.

Designed with precision, the top chamber of the QDD29 is dedicated to heat-treating tool steels, capable of reaching temperatures up to 2,200°F. Meanwhile, the tempering chamber accommodates temperatures up to 1,250°F, equipped with a recirculation baffle for small aluminum work. With interior dimensions measuring 12” wide by 8” high by 24” deep, and external dimensions of 55” wide by 70” tall by 56” deep, this furnace offers ample space for various applications.

Controlled by digital single setpoint controls and featuring overtemperature protection, the QDD29 ensures precise and safe operation. Its robust control circuit, driven by solid-state relays, offers reliable performance throughout its lifespan.

Customization is an option on L&L Special Furnace machines, with the availability to tailor each system to specific thermal requirements. Additionally, furnaces can be equipped with pyrometry packages to meet ASM2750 specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Optional configurations include various control and recorder setups, providing flexibility to meet unique operational needs.
