SAFE Structure Awarded Contract for Air Force One and Two Maintenance Crane
S.A.F.E. Structure Designs has been awarded a contract by L3Harris Technologies to design, engineer and manufacture a custom aircraft maintenance crane for Air Force One and Air Force Two. The specialized crane will assist in the safe installation and removal of the radome — an essential aircraft component that protects radar equipment — on the presidential aircraft fleet.
The crane is designed to support routine and mission-critical maintenance operations, aiming to increase safety, operational efficiency and reduce aircraft downtime. The new project marks an expansion of SAFE Structure’s involvement in presidential aircraft maintenance programs.
This is not the company’s first contribution to the presidential fleet. Previously, SAFE Structure engineered and delivered two cranes currently in use for maintenance on Air Force Two. The latest contract underscores the company's role in providing precision-engineered maintenance solutions for high-profile military aviation programs.
Founded with a focus on innovation and safety, SAFE Structure Designs has built a reputation as a trusted manufacturer of aviation maintenance equipment and ground support solutions. The company’s expertise extends to customized maintenance platforms, hangar equipment and tooling for both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, supporting the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps.
With an emphasis on custom engineering, the company continues to serve military aviation technicians, defense contractors and logistics teams requiring specialized equipment for complex aircraft maintenance environments.
